Key findings

Among 5,425 recorded identities with a first observed completed workout in September 2026, 2,787 recorded another completion on a later UTC date within seven elapsed days. That is a 51.4% first-week return share under the definition below.

  • 5,425 first observed September completers formed the cohort.
  • 2,787 recorded a qualifying later-day completion.
  • 51.4% returned within the defined first-week window.

The recorded distribution

A qualifying return occurs after the initial completion, on a different UTC date and within 604,800 seconds. Several sessions on the initial date alone fall outside that definition. Every selected identity had a full follow-up window.

How to interpret these numbers

This measure answers whether a qualifying completion was recorded during the first week. Later returns, exercise in another app and unrecorded training remain separate questions. The available history begins in June 2026, so first observed describes the records available to this analysis.

A practical use for the findings

Make the next visit concrete: choose its sequence, preview the movements and leave enough preparation time. The return guide helps after a missed date. Exit responses describe a separate sample and should be interpreted with their own denominator.

Method and coverage

We selected first observed production completions dated September 1–30 and examined each identity’s following seven elapsed days. Identity changes, reinstalls, missing recordings and deleted accounts can affect which event appears first or remains available. Session length, notifications and other possible causes of return were outside this descriptive comparison.

The analysis uses Military Calisthenics production records. Events explicitly marked as emulator activity were excluded, while unknown status remained. Staff accounts were not comprehensively audited. Only aggregate results are published. Snapshot date: October 29, 2026.

A question for further research

A useful next comparison would examine first-session experience alongside later returns, keeping the cohort definition and follow-up period consistent. Session length, chosen plan and familiarity with floor transitions are possible descriptive groupings. Differences between such groups would still need careful interpretation because people choose their own starting conditions. A designed experiment would be a separate way to test whether a specific product change causes a change in the return measure.
